The Website Made in a Week
In early 2017, Super Shuttle pulled out of the Northern Colorado market, and our client Simon Chen of Eight Black Cars saw an opportunity. He called, told me to buy longmontshuttle.com, and get started on a new website. This was Monday the 16th of January – we had the site up and taking reservations by Friday morning.
The $10,000 Email
In February 2020, before the world got real interesting, Longmont Shuttle ran a BOGO special, nearly identical to their competitors’ Leap Day Sale – buy one get one half off on shuttle vouchers, with no limit. We sent to the email out to the list of past riders, and posted to the Facebook page, and sold more than $10,000 worth of vouchers.
It was an aggressive move against a competitor that paid off in spades, and shows the potential of maintaining a great mailing list. We focused hard on email marketing for the shuttle during 2018 and 2019, which meant when we went out to audience with this offer, they were very receptive.
Full Throttle Marketing
The Coronavirus changed business for all of my clients. For Simon and the Longmont Shuttle, there was very little market to serve – air travel was below 15% until the middle of May. Instead, they turned to serving the community, delivering toilet paper, groceries, and medication, free of charge to those who needed it the most.
We launched print campaigns in the local newspaper, and started
