But Weebly is free. Why pay for a website?

Great point. And just like most things that are free, it has a value all to itself.

If all you’re looking for is your name and address online, Weebly or SquareSpace are great tools. In fact, go look up these website design tools – we encourage it.

The trouble is, if your ambitions stretch a little further – for example, to actually being FOUND on the web through great search engine optimization, then you’ll truly realize the value of free.

We”ll talk more about SEO in the next section.

What is SEO and why do I need it?

Search Engine Optimization is the key to website design success.

Imagine a rich man who builds a colossal statue of himself in pure gold, to impress upon the world his extreme riches and manhood. (No, not Donald Trump.)

Now imagine that he builds this monument to himself at the South Pole, where nobody will ever see it.

That’s why SEO is so important. It is the map that steers Google, Bing and Yahoo to your location on the web. It’s how people find you. And we guarantee that you want seasoned experts building it, because there are literally hundreds of factors that go into web design for optimum SEO.

Oh – and never, ever buy a package from someone selling SEO. It’s not an aftermarket spoiler for a 1994 Civic: if it’s not built into your site, it will never work.

Ok, so why DogCat Marketing?

20 Years Of Experience

We are not kids playing at being designers. We do not own a fussball table, nor do we work in a loft with an original Pac Mac machine. We’re serious, highly-experienced people with an incredible track record. Our advertising, marketing and technology knowledge is enough to fill books. If books were still relevant.

Our websites are pretty. They are exquisitely-written. But the real creativity comes in the first steps – identifying your audience, figuring out how to reach them, and focusing on the goals you set for your web presence.

Driven By A Sales Mentality

We do not engage in web design projects because we happen to believe everyone should have a website. We do so because we are committed to increasing your sales, developing customer retention, building brand loyalty, engaging regularly with prospects and clients alike, and improving your marketing margins

Committed To Excellence

If your website doesn’t make you happy, then get one that does. When you work with us, you will be happy with the results. Guaranteed.

So how much will my website cost?

That’s the wrong question.

The right question is “How much will my website make?”

Why would you pay good money for something that you simply feel you have to have, like the same Coach purse as your neighbor or a newer car than your junior at work?

There is no inherent value in such things. Your website should be an investment in your company’s future; a means of driving sales inquiries to your phones and sales staff. So to expand on the right answer, the intelligent client will ask “How do I balance my website design investment against the potential returns of creating something that brings me business?”

Ask us that question, and we’ll be able to help.

Website design is not as easy as you’d think.

In fact, coding a website from scratch can take months, thousands and thousands of dollars, and more trial and error than Clarence Thomas on a bad day.

Which is why we develop in Open Source technologies such as WordPress, so that the cost and time of that development is shared by literally hundreds of thousands of developers across the globe.

When we come across an issue nobody has solved before, we help out by addressing that issue. Every other member of the WordPress community does the same thing. Each month, dozens of collaborators release a new version of the architecture so that we can all benefit from it.

The sites are built on a framework within WordPress that is almost infinitely flexible. It’s all based on the idea of blocks – each block can be a specified height, width, and contain a specified object. Maybe text, maybe animation, maybe a widget.

What we save in creating every element from scratch, we can devote to helping you understand your new site, maintaining it yourself, and developing the web presence that you need to elevate you above the competition.

We’re not saying it’s easy. Like any complex tool, it takes a lot of time and effort to learn. But the good news is… you’re looking at the result.
