Client: Blue Skies Massage
Work: Copywriting, SEO, Web Design
Emily at Blue Skies Massage had recently won an award for her business plan in a statewide contest when she contacted us to design and develop a services website. She wanted a clean and contemporary website, and she wanted it rich in content without appearing content-heavy.
We developed the Blue Skies Massage website with all of this in mind, and ended up with a seriously good looking, functional website.
Content for a massage and spa services website can be tricky when you’re trying to keep a page clean and light on text. This becomes especially difficult when you offer the wide variety of services that Blue Skies does. We were able to work with Emily to pare down the information into easily readable chunks of information.
Blue Skies Massage was in the process of moving out of Emily’s home and into a new location as we were building this site. This move brought many changes to the business, namely the addition of other massage therapists and specialists. It was important to Emily that the new website would emphasize her new staff and their capabilities. We interviewed each of the therapists and wrote biographies for them which are featured on the “Team” page, a primary menu item.
Services Website Design
Keeping design clean can be challenging on the web. It’s a lot easier to hide flaws and inconsistencies on a busy web page than one with a bright white background. The pared down content and our use of a slight-off white for the background wherever copy was present is what keeps this site looking clean and contemporary. Plus, not using a glaring white reduces eye strain, and makes the site much more comfortable to read.
We included a slider at the top of the front page of Blue Skies Massage website. A collection of serene pictures with a gentle call-to-action that boils down to, “We will make you feel better.” We have employed sliders on more than this one services website, but this one is an optimal example of our work. Though we use stock photography, we carefully frame and crop each image to give it an extra edge of authenticity.
